Presently all proceeds will help fund two schools for girls and four centers for sewing in rural India. One school and two sewing centers are located in each of the two states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, serving both the Hindu and Muslim communities. These communities have been documented through these images since 2006, and every year since then.
The teachers of these schools used to be students themselves, in schools supported by the photographer in 2006. Now they lead their villages and are themselves proof of community development from within. All proceeds will go directly towards the salaries of these teachers as well as the supplies needed for the sewing centers.
